Rugby Football Club
Situated in the heart of the west country, just off the M5, North Petherton is located along the A38 between Bridgwater and Taunton. The rugby club was established in 1893 and can be found at its Beggars Brook ground on the southern outskirts of the town on the A38. Sustainability for our club is essential and we focal as a major part of our local community.
We can guarantee that playing or visiting, you will get a warm, friendly welcome. The club is inclusive and over the years in our successes we have grown with the times diversifying and keeping the vision of Rugby Football but also our mission statement “Opportunity Achieve Knowledge Sportsmanship” says what we want to achieve, everyone counts, fair play and to seek opportunities.
Steered by an executive committee with a robust governance framework we live by our values at all times.
North Petherton RFC run two senior teams, with the 1st XV competing in the Tribute South West 1 (West) league and the 2nd XV competing in the Tribute Somerset One league. The Under 18s compete in the Somerset Under 18s league.
Pethy Ladies play in the Women’s National Challenge 1 South West League on Sundays.
The club also runs a 3rd team/Vets side and a thriving Minis and Junior section covering all age groups from U6’s up to U16’s. We also have a newly formed girls section for ages U13’s, U15 & U18’s.
The club is always looking to recruit new players of any age or ability. The Senior and Under 18 sides train every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 18:45, the Ladies on Wednesday evenings at 19:00 and the Youth sides on Sunday mornings from 10:00 am
