Colts Match report
Weston Colts v NPRFC Colts

The boys were hot out the blocks with the forwards putting in a great shift at scrum time forcing Weston onto the back foot.  After picking from the ruck a few times a calculated pass from Rob Williams gave an easy path for Oscar Hallett to touch the ball down for our first try.  James Trebble was on kicking duty and he got off to a great start converting Oscar’s try.  Pethy continued to dominate the breakdowns and scrums forcing Weston into their own half for long periods.  After heavy amounts of pressure from the defensive Pethy, Weston gave away a penalty in which Jay Skinner took it quickly and put a lovely grubber kick and chase to score a terrific individual try.  Liam Dray reacted quickly to a dominated breakdown and tore through the line at speed where after a few phases of play Jay Skinner scored again after several dominant performances at the breakdown from Pethy.  Liam was on fire as the first half was drawing to a close he broke Westons defensive line to score his first of the game.  Weston never let their heads drop as right before the half time whistle a few long passes resulted in Weston getting a try in the right corner.

After some concise feedback from coach Harry Roberts and Captain Jack Baker the boys were ready to go again, unfortunately at the start of the second half after a brilliant shift Captain Jack Baker came off due to a head injury and was greeted with a great reception from both players and spectators.  Pethys dominance at the breakdown continued with a few great turnovers at crucial moments.  This constant pressure from Pethy led to Liam Dray getting his second try where Oscar converted nicely under strong winds.  Weston continued to play positively forcing several well timed tackles from our number 10 Oscar.  Fullback Ryan Mears made several great catches relieving pressure on the Pethy attack.  When Weston had the ball, hard hitting tackles from the likes of Jay Colley forced mistakes.  Due to unforeseen circumstances scrums became uncontested, however flankers Tom Standerwick and Travis Griffiths shot out the scrum to put sustained pressure on the opposing backs.  This pressure resulted in a turnover by Travis Griffiths and a quick tap from Jay Skinner put Liam Dray through for this third try of the match.  Both teams battled right up until the final whistle.  Amongst these battles Pethys George Winslade spotted a gap in the defence and scored his first try of the game.  Several carries by Ross Turner and Phoenix Cooper allowed Pethy to keep control of the match up until the final whistle where the game ended 39-10 to North Petherton, match report by Travis Griffiths
