North Petherton 2s hit the road looking to continue their run of good form at nail season and Backwell RFC on a sunny Saturday. North Petherton continued a clinical display by scoring again, only conceding in the dying moments of the first half following a strong maul from the Nailsea forwards. 12-16 to the visitors going in to half time.

The second half started as much of the first half had gone. North Petherton looked to play expansively and scored two early tries. However, I’ll discipline allowed Nailsea and Backwell to utilise their powerful mail once again and draw the scores closer to 19-26. The final 10 proved to be a tense affair. North Petherton were once again able to cross the line through their expansive game to put the score at 19-33. But Nailsea and Backwell were not out for the count and their back utilised an effective kick and chase to get over the line and bring the score back to 24-33.

The final plays of the game saw timely penalties put tankless and back well in a position to employ their Mail once again and in the last phase of play the crossed the white wash again and converted to bring the final score to 31-33.
